The Artist

Born In Kano in 1947, Dale attended the Ahmadu Bello University, art school graduating in 1971. He is best known for his beadwork and metal foil, but is probably one of the most multi-dimensional artists working in Nigeria today, working with media ranging from stained glass to water colour.
His works are imbued with a simplicity that makes them urgent however old they are. He has explored themes from the dignity of the everyday over-burdened Nigerian manual worker to the innocence and vivacity of everyday Nigerian women.
