Akintunde Olajide John was born in 1972 at Ebute-Metta, Lagos. He enrolled at the Yaba College of Technology for his National and Higher National Diploma to study Arts from 1996 to 1999.

He is inspired by nature, people, the fluidity of movement and the environment, and these are evident in his paintings.

His first solo exposition was at Maison de France, Lagos in December 2004. Since then his artworks have been showcased in more than 25 exhibitions in Nigeria and abroad; including Dawn of Democracy, Lagos (2001); San Diego Watercolour Society, USA (2003); Our Experience Maison De France Lagos (2004); Colour of The Year (Dulux) Eko Le Meridian, Lagos (2006); October Rain Society of Nigerian Artists, Lagos (2009) and Maison De France Lagos (2009).

John is a member of several art organizations including Defactori Studio, Society of Nigerian Artists, Sable Watercolour, Nigeria, and the San Diego Water Color Society. He is a full-time studio artist in Lagos, Nigeria.
