Queen Nwaneri was born in Italy, grew up in Nigeria and currently lives in Australia. Her paintings reflect her diverse world view. They also reflect human experiences that extend beyond man-made boundaries.
Nwaneri discovered her artistic interest in her early teens and was encouraged by her mother to pursue her interest by taking up apprenticeship positions to learn batik-making and sculpting. She went on to study art at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife in 2012.
She would eventually focus on paintings, creating bold, visually compelling artworks that explore themes like mental illness, hope, struggle, and emancipation. She explores human conditions – neither constrained by culture nor gender.
Currently based in Australia, her artworks can be found in private collections in the US, Germany, Canada, Netherlands, Republic of Benin and Nigeria.
